The production of Chianti wines is regulated by strict rules that govern the types of grapes used, the winemaking process, and the aging requirements. In addition to Chianti Classico, the area also produces other red and white wines, including Chianti Rufina, Chianti Colli Senesi, and Vin Santo. The region has a long and rich history, and winemaking has played a significant role in the local economy and culture for centuries. Today, the Chianti area is home to numerous wineries, ranging from small family-owned vineyards to large commercial operations, all dedicated to producing the highest quality wines.
