Alta Langa DOCG
VIneyards, wineries and wine cellars for sale in Langhe, Piedmont

Alta Langa DOCG is a sparkling wine produced in Piedmont: the Alte Langhe area is one of the most renowned wine regions for the production of Metodo Classico sparkling wines, made mainly from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes.
The Alta Langa DOCG production area covers a hilly area in the provinces of Cuneo, Asti and Alessandria, located at a minimum altitude of 250 meters above sea level. This area is characterized by calcareous and clay soils, ideal for viticulture, and a cool climate, which favors a slow ripening of the grapes, ensuring complexity and freshness to the wines.
The history of Alta Langa sparkling wine has origins that date back to the late 19th century, when Metodo Classico sparkling wines began to be produced in Piedmont, following the French example. However, official recognition as a DOC came only in 2002, while DOCG status was conferred in 2011. Since then, Alta Langa has continued to grow in reputation, becoming one of the main references for Italian sparkling wines. Today, Alta Langa DOCG wines are prized for their elegance and structure.
